I've been writing for months some of the same words that were uttered on Thursday, November 21st, 2019 by Congressman Adam Schiff of California - Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and the guiding light of the Trump impeachment inquiry - when he closed what may or may not be the final round of hearings on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. When are Republicans going to get off their asses and shove a stake
through the heart of Donald Trump's presidency? Although those were not Congressman Schiff's actual words - they're mine - the crux of what I have written is what Mr. Schiff was expressing. I do ask you to take note and read my aforementioned remark carefully and correctly so that there is no misinterpretation. I said, "through the heart of Donald Trump's presidency," not Donald Trump. I wish the man no harm whatsoever. But Trump needs to pay for his crimes against our nation.
Where are the John Dean (pictured right) types from the Richard Nixon era in "Trump World?" Dean was President Nixon's White House Counsel from July 1970 until April 1973. Dean played a significant role in the cover-up of the Watergate scandal. But making a deal with prosecutors, Dean accepted a single felony guilty plea in exchange for becoming a key witness against his boss and others. He had been sentenced to between one and four years in a minimum-security prison, but instead was moved to a special "safe house" for witnesses. After testifying in the trials of Watergate conspirators, Dean's sentence was reduced to time served, which ended up being four months. Dean was the first official of the Nixon administration to accuse the 37th President of direct involvement with Watergate and the cover-up. Dean had suspected that Mr. Nixon was clandestinely tape recording conversations in The Oval Office, and so he tipped off prosecutors, which eventually led to "the smoking gun" audio tape that turned out to be the straw that broke the camel's back and a major factor in ending the Nixon presidency.
Is there someone that Donald Trump trusts who is looking over his or her shoulder everyday and wondering, "Is this the day I get handcuffed?" And if so, will that person trade his or her freedom for a shorter sentence behind bars in order to give Congress more ironclad evidence that Trump has broken the law? Oh we've had a lot of distinguished diplomats and national security professionals - all dedicated public servants - who should be praised, applauded and saluted for their under oath appearances before the House of Representatives, but where the hell are the people directly in Trump's orbit in The West Wing who are likely to know where all the
proverbial bodies are buried? And which ones, if any, are also guilty of crimes? Former White House Counsel Don McGahn (pictured left) and former National Security Adviser John Bolton (pictured above right), among others, each need to step up to the plate and hit grand slam home runs by telling Congress and the American people EVERYTHING THEY KNOW about Trump's illegal activities over the last three years. Are they afraid of incriminating themselves? If they are innocent, they have nothing to fear. So they need to totally ignore Trump's orders and, therefore, it is time for them to offer public testimony for all Americans to witness.
Where is former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders (pictured left)? Where is Counselor to the President, Kellyanne Conway (pictured right)? They - and others - need to put country over party, and country over Trump. They need to stand tall and show the American people that they won't be intimidated by a man who should no more be President of the United States than the New York City rats that live in the sewers beneath Trump Tower.
We learned a great deal from the hearings of the last two weeks where much devastating, irrefutable evidence was brought to the surface by credible witnesses. But perhaps the most important piece of information that was revealed was when the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland (pictured top left) delivered explosive, bombshell testimony on Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 that the Vice President of the United States Mike Pence (pictured bottom left), the Secretary of State Mike
Pompeo (pictured lower right), the Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney (left),
and the then-National Security Adviser John Bolton were all "in the
loop" that 391 million dollars in military aid to Ukraine, approved by Congress, was being withheld,
Mimicking a mob boss, Trump twisted Zelensky's arm to interfere in our upcoming 2020 election. What Trump did was a classic Mafia-like shakedown. When Trump said to Zelensky in that now infamous July 25th, 2019 telephone call, "We do a lot for Ukraine" and "spend a lot of effort and a lot of time" to help Ukraine, but that it's not always "reciprocal," so I want you "to do us a favor though," those words equate to Trump committing crimes. The bottom line is that Trump was pressuring a foreign government to investigate a political rival of the U.S. President. Vice President Biden is the front-runner in the race for the 2020 Democratic nomination for President, and obviously, Trump is nervous, if not altogether scared, that Mr. Biden can defeat him in the November 3rd, 2020 general election. Bribery and extortion are always considered crimes, but bribery, specifically, is an impeachable offense that qualifies for the President to be removed from office. No doubt our Founding Fathers determined bribery to be painted as an elected official's abuse of power. Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution is crystal clear that the President "shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." That financial assistance to Ukraine had already been authorized and incorporated within the 2019 federal budget. The money was designated to help Ukraine's armed forces in their effort to protect their nation from Russians who were invading the eastern part of their country. The funding was to provide military aid including weapons, radar systems and other critical support.
Ambassador Sondland also made it known during his public, congressional testimony that he and others did not want to, but that they were under "express direction of the President of the United States" to work with Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani on Ukraine policy. "We did not want to work with Mr. Giuliani. Simply put, we played the hand we were dealt. We all understood that if we refused to work with Mr. Giuliani, we would lose an important opportunity to cement relations between the United States and Ukraine. So we followed the President's orders." Let me repeat those last five words because they are essential to the entire impeachment proceedings. "We followed the President's orders."
Think about what happens if a person is the mastermind of a bank robbery ring, but he or she doesn't actually rob the banks. The leader who runs the operation is just as guilty of the crimes as the people who wear the masks and, with guns in hands, raid the vaults. When Donald Trump issues orders and others follow them, if the orders are to commit crimes, Trump deserves to be just as culpable as those who obeyed his commands. Rudy Giuliani is not, however, a member of the Trump administration, nor is he employed in any way by the U.S. government. So Giuliani had no business doing anything with Ukraine policy. Furthermore, he is not protected by the blanket of White House executive privilege - which I oppose when the guy at the top is the subject of the crimes being investigated - and, therefore, Giuliani too is implicated in numerous felonies and could likely be indicted, convicted and sentenced to prison.
It was proven long time ago that President Richard Nixon had nothing to do with the planning and execution of the 1972 break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, DC. Mr. Nixon did, however, order and control the cover-up, and in the end, that - and the evidence of the aforementioned audio tape - were what caused his demise; his resignation of the presidency. But with Donald Trump - although Rudy Giuliani was instrumental in orchestrating the quid pro quo with Ukraine - it was Trump who had the baton in his hand as he conducted and directed the crime.
It was a whistle-blower's complaint that sparked the congressional impeachment inquiry. The volcano of proof against Donald Trump erupted after The Washington Post published a story on September 18th, 2019 about a 9-page memo that was filed in August by a U.S. intelligence officer who reported "an urgent concern" about a communication between Trump and a foreign leader. That leader turned out to be Ukraine's President Zelensky. The whistle-blower's complaint indicated that the individual was "deeply concerned" that the actions described constitute "a serious or flagrant problem, abuse, or violation of law or Executive Order."
The whistle-blower is a courageous person and this individual needs to be rewarded with a standing ovation by each and every American, and protected by the laws of our land. His or her identity must remain a secret, especially in today's inflammatory and incendiary political climate. It wasn't until May 31st, 2005 - nearly 33 years after the Watergate break-in - that former FBI Associate Director Mark Felt (pictured left) revealed to the world, at age 91, that it was he who was known as "Deep Throat." Felt had provided Bob Woodward (on the right in the picture above right) and Carl Bernstein (on the left in the picture above right) of The Washington Post with vital information about Watergate that ultimately led to President Nixon's resignation on August 9th, 1974. Woodward, Bernstein, and The Washington Post's Executive
Editor Ben Bradlee (pictured left) promised to keep Felt's name classified, and that the mystery would remain until after Felt's death. But Felt admitted he was Woodward's underground parking garage whisperer after his daughter persuaded him to come forward with the acknowledgment before dying. Felt lived three-and-a-half more years with his death not coming until December 18th, 2008 at the age of 95. Time will tell whether the Trump whistle-blower's name remains confidential or not.
Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to the United States. He has caused a constitutional crisis in our nation. Congressional doctors need to administer an antidote to our country for the poison that is Donald Trump. His toxicity has sickened our national security and infected the liberty and freedom that each American cherishes dearly. Trump needs to be held accountable - in a legal and constitutional manner - for the crimes he has undoubtedly committed. You'll notice I have not used the word "allegedly" in this column. There are no more allegations. The testimony given by each of the congressional witnesses have proven Trump's guilt, and Trump himself has confessed to the crimes in many ways. Just because he believes he's not guilty because he's President, and because he thinks that he can do whatever he wants while living in The White House, doesn't dismiss the fact that the law is the law, and nobody - not even Trump - is above it.
Will Republicans in the U.S. Senate do their duty? I ask, where are those Senate Republicans - especially the leadership - who should be shouting at the top of their lungs to demand truth and transparency? They have each taken an oath of office that they will "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic," and that they will "bear true faith and allegiance to the same." Where is the 2019 version of Senator Howard Baker (pictured above left)? In June 1973, Baker of Tennessee was the ranking Republican on the special Senate committee that investigated the Watergate scandal. Baker famously hit the nail on the head when he asked that startling question during the Watergate hearings. "What did the President know, and when did he know it?" Are there any Republican luminaries in today's Senate who are willing to say, "I don't give a damn whether 'Trumpers' in my state don't vote for me next time. I don't give a damn what my colleagues think of me. I must do what's right and speak out against Donald Trump because no one is above the law." Republicans in Congress have to stop thinking about themselves and they need to demonstrate moral conscience. The Democratic-controlled House of Representatives will soon impeach Trump. But will the Republican-controlled Senate convict and remove him from the presidency? Republicans in both the Senate and the House need to stop protecting an entity of evil who is unfit to sit behind The Oval Office desk. Honorable Republicans can no longer support what's wrong for America. Instead, they need to do what's right for America. And what's good for our country.
And that's The Controversy for today.

I think the Republicans will NEVER admit Trump is wrong, no matter what. This is not the same as Nixon/Watergate. Why? Because the media culture has changed to such a degree that disproving or proving anything has become impossible in the era of "fake news" claims and endless conspiracy theories.
ReplyDeleteI, of course, disagree with you, but time will tell which one of us is correct. I have to believe, though, that there are 20 decent Republicans in the U.S. Senate who will put country over party and country over Donald Trump by voting with the 47 Democrats to convict him and remove him from office. When Republicans - not necessarily "Trumpers" nationwide, but the GOP on Capitol Hill - see public opinion from right leaning Independents who they need to get re-elected to their Senate seats cause the numbers to soar in to the high 60 percent and 70 percent range to get rid of Trump, Republicans in the Senate will do as they did with Richard Nixon and Donald Trump will be history. But thank you for your comment. GBD
DeleteGary, the bigger question should be will any of the Democrats put country over party and put an end to this charade. Not one person testified that they had any “EVIDENCE” that the President did anything to effect the 2020 election. If they said anything they said the President was wanting an investigation into Burisma, the Biden’s , the Ukraine corruption and interference in the US 2016 election not 2020. The US Constitution gives the President sole power over foreign policy, the foreign aid granted to the Ukraine by Congress stipulated that the Executive Branch had to certify that the Ukraine was changing its ways on and were fighting corruption before any fund could be sent, yes the State Dept and DOD said they were making headway but the final say from the Executive Branch is the PRESIDENT! He wanted more done not to get dirt on a political rival but to weed out corruption that happened in 2016 and before which may have included a now political rival and his son. Should we just ignore the possibility of crimes committed by Joe Biden when he was the VP and or his son? It is less than a year from the election the Democrats should have faith in the American people to let them decide and not Adam Schiff one of the most dishonest and corrupt member ever in the US House. Let’s Keep America Great, Trump Pence 2020!
DeleteDo you realize that you just acknowledged that Donald Trump broke the law? When you say, "If they said anything, they said the President was wanting an investigation into Burisma, the Bidens..." THAT...is against the law. Trump cannot investigate a political opponent and tell a foreign government that he wants the President of that country to investigate Joe Biden because "We do a lot for Ukraine" and "spend a lot of effort and a lot of time" to help Ukraine, but that it's not always "reciprocal," so I want you "to do us a favor though." Do you not understand that those words equate to Trump committing crimes? The bottom line is - as I wrote in my column - that Trump was pressuring a foreign government to investigate a political rival of the U.S. President. As for evidence, you must be living on another planet if you don't think there's evidence. If after all the testimony earlier this month, if this was a courtroom drama, there isn't a jury in the world who wouldn't convict the defendant of the crime. One witness after another gave irrefutable testimony that proves Trump's guilt. There is no "charade" here, only proof by credible witnesses with impeccable integrity. You can say all day long that Trump has "sole power over foreign policy," (which isn't totally true because Congress has the power of the purse) but that doesn't mean Trump has the right to bribe a foreign leader in an extortion plot to withhold military aid unless that foreign leader (in this case President Zelensky of Ukraine) does a "favor" for Trump. THAT...is a quid pro quo...and THAT...is illegal. Trump's conversation with Zelensky had nothing to do with corruption, it was only Trump's way to get Ukraine to investigate Trump's number one political opponent for 2020. As for your statement - wrong as it is - that there is a "possibility of crimes committed by Joe Biden when he was the VP and/or his son," there is no evidence whatsoever that either of the Bidens committed any crimes, and the entire matter is bogus. As for Congressman Adam Schiff - "America's champion" and the most stellar Member of Congress, along with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Mr. Schiff is saving our country and our democracy from a man who thinks he's a MAFIA kingpin. KingPIN...or king? Remember that a federal judge has issued her ruling that "Presidents are not kings." Of course we didn't need her to actually make such a declaration as anyone with a brain knows that Presidents are not kings. But thankfully, U.S. District Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson issued her statement for those of you - including Trump - who were (or are) unsure. Of course Trump does indeed think of himself as a king, or an emperor, or a kingPIN. In any event, Trump is none of the above. And in time he'll be nothing more than a disgraced man who will have been impeached, convicted and removed from the presidency (if he isn't forced to resign before then), and then...and then...his only title will be a number on the front of an orange jumpsuit, and his residence won't be The White House...or Trump Tower...or Mar-a-Lago...but a prison cell, right next door to Rudy Giuliani's. GBD
DeleteGary, I don’t know what law you are talking about that he broke. Once again you are miss quoting, what I said was “If they said anything they said the President was wanting an investigation into Burisma, the Biden’s , the Ukraine corruption and interference in the US 2016 election not 2020.” Investigating corruption is not only legal it is required under the defense authorization act, it require the executive branch to investigate any accusations of corruption before the release of any foreign aid. I don’t understand where you and the crazy left think it is a crime to ask a foreign head of state for a favor to investigate corruption in their country , foreign affairs have been done that way for ever. You wash our hands and we will wash yours. The President wasn’t asking to investigate a political rival for 2020 he was asking to investigate a former VP, his son and his son’s company for corruption back in 2016 and before. As for my statement "sole power over foreign policy," the executive branch does, your statement “which isn't totally true because Congress has the power of the purse” means nothing, the President sets the agenda, Congress can fund it or not but the policy is set by the White House. As for Adam Schiff you call him "America's champion" if you truly feel that way a feel sorry for you, he is a disgrace to his office, to the US House, to his oath which must mean nothing to him and he is a disgrace to America. He should be removed from Congress and if it was legal removed from our Country for his acts against America!
DeleteSince you don't have the courage to sign your vicious comments with your name, it is obvious you are a bitter, hateful person. That being said, I suppose I need to educate you because it is also obvious that you do not have the intelligence of a gnat when it comes to political law.
DeleteDonald Trump pressured Ukraine President Zelensky to launch an investigation in to an American candidate who is challenging Trump in our 2020 presidential election. That is an abuse of power from the Office of the President of the United States. And THAT is illegal. However, Trump's actions violates the U.S. Campaign Finance Law too.
There is no question that Trump broke the law when he asked Zelensky for a "favor." That "favor" was Trump soliciting valuable assistance from a foreign leader and his government. When Trump told Zelensky that he would have his personal lawyer, Rudy "I'll be going to prison soon" Giuliani, call him to investigate Vice President Biden and his son, that was the same as Trump soliciting money. Trump was asking (actually demanding) a campaign contribution from Zelensky in exchange for 391 million dollars in military aid. Aid that was approved by Congress. U.S. federal law is very clear that a "contribution" is any "thing of value" that may affect an election. Trump's "favor" from Zelensky to seek out damaging information about Joe Biden - who is Trump's number one rival for 2020 - is certainly considered a "thing of value," and, as such, is illegal.
You, Trump, and other Republicans can try to spin Trump's request to Zelensky as investigating corruption, "required (as you've stated) under the Defense Authorization Act," but that's NOT what Trump was doing. Trump entered in to a quid pro quo, and by doing so, he committed crimes of bribery and extortion.
Once Congress - which does have the "power of the purse" approved for the military aid to Ukraine, which Trump agreed to as well, he cannot change his mind because he wants Ukraine to do him a "favor."
It is truly a shame that your mind, heart and soul are filled with such venom with your attack on Congressman Adam Schiff. Yes, I do call Mr. Schiff "America's champion." He - and the Democrats - are upholding their oaths of office and performing EXACTLY the way our Founding Fathers designed in the U.S. Constitution. Your vile words for which you desire to have Congressman Schiff "removed from Congress" and if legal - which it is not - to have him "removed from our country for his acts against America" are totally disgraceful and disgusting. Mr. Schiff has NOT in any way violated any laws against the United States. He is an ethical and moral man unlike Donald Trump. Trump spews hateful profanities and vulgarities on live television before a national audience and cares about nobody but himself. And yet you continue to support him. All I can say is wow. I don't know your gender since you have remained anonymous, but I can only imagine what you are teaching your children if you are a mother or a father. Yes...wow!
GBD
Here you go again with the name calling, it is what you do best. I don’t need to be educated by the likes of you. My knowledge of political law out ranks you by 10 fold.
DeletePresident Trump never pressured President Zelensky to do anything. He asked him for a favor to look into investigating a former VP, his son and a company for possible corruption. If a candidate for office was accused of bank fraud should the FBI not investigate him just because he declared himself a candidate for president? Even if the current President’s private lawyer is the one that discovered the accusation, it needs to be investigated. You and the left have assumed that this is all about 2020, with NO proof NO evidence only peoples opinion. This is all about two things, first the President wanted to find out what if anything Ukraine had to do with the 2016 election interference and the second thing is if Ukraine had done enough to fight corruption. If Biden, his son and Burisma were corrupt we need to know. The favor had nothing to do with Biden the candidate only Biden the possible crook. And of course the Left will do anything, lie, cheat or steal to try and undo the 2016 election, that they have never gotten over.
Once again I need to educate you on the law. You stated “Once Congress - which does have the "power of the purse" approved for the military aid to Ukraine, which Trump agreed to as well, he cannot change his mind because he wants Ukraine to do him a "favor." You are how did you put it “do not have the intelligence of a gnat,” the LAW requires the Executive Branch (the President)to certify that the foreign government is not corrupt and or is fighting governmental corruption before they release the US Taxpayer funded aid. Stop only listening to MSNBC and the left and checkout the Law before you make comments.
As for Adam Schiff, he told America for over two years that he had absolute proof that the President conspired with the Russians to interfere with the 2016 election, he never released it because he didn’t have it, because it didn’t exist, he just made it all up, the President didn’t conspire with Russia, just a reminder the only candidate that conspired with a foreign agent in 2016 was Clinton, that is a fact! Schiff ran a totally partisan hearing in the basement of the Capital behind closed doors, not allowing the Republicans to call witnesses, interrupting them, not allowing them to ask certain questions, it was all a sham. How can anyone forget his claim to be reading the transcript of the Presidents call with President Zelensky. The man is dangerous, cares more about his party, more about getting even for 2016, and doesn’t give a damn about what’s good for America. He should be removed from Congress for action unbecoming a US Congressman.
What I have taught my children is to be good people, care about people, love your family, God and country. To work hard and not expect handouts and freebee’s. America gives you great opportunity but it is up to make the most of it. The true American Dream!
My response to the above reader will be in three parts.
DeletePART ONE OF THREE
Apparently I do need to educate you because your knowledge of political law is flawed and you'll never "out rank" me with regards to this issue. That's number one of twelve points.
Number two - saying that I need to "educate" you is not "name calling." The facts are clear. Crystal clear.
Number three - if you truly believe that Donald Trump never "pressured" Ukraine's President Zelensky then you must be living in an underground bunker and, therefore, have not seen the overwhelming evidence including Trump HIMSELF - not to mention his White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and Rudy "I'll be going to prison soon" Giuliani who have all admitted to the world that Trump pressured Zelensky and - as such - committed a crime of bribery (extortion, thus a quid pro quo) when he, Trump, wanted Zelensky to do him "a favor" to launch an investigation in to Joe Biden because there's not been anything "reciprocal" and the United States is giving Ukraine 391 million dollars in military aid. When spelling out the law, Trump was in blatant violation. Trump wanted Zelensky to dig up dirt on Vice President Biden - Trump's chief political rival for the 2020 race for The White House - and THAT is illegal. You and the Republicans can all day long claim Trump wanted Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden for possible "corruption," but there is no evidence at all that the Bidens committed any crime of corruption or any crime at all. You can say that there is no proof, no evidence against Trump, but you'd be wrong.
Number four - your line that "the favor had nothing to do with Biden the candidate only Biden the possible crook" is laughable. There is no "Biden the possible crook." Trump, you and other "Trumpers" are trying to do to Joe Biden what you all did to Hillary Clinton. It's not going to work a second time.
GBD
END OF PART ONE OF THREE
PART TWO OF THREE
DeleteNumber five - this has NOTHING...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...to do with the 2016 election. It's only...ONLY...Trump and the Republicans who are constantly bringing up the 2016 election and Hillary Clinton. We Democrats HAVE gotten over it. It is in no way the Democrats who are lying, cheating or stealing...only Trump and the Republicans.
Number six - your remarks about the "favor," Congress and "the power of the purse," etc., etc., are totally false. It is YOU who need to read the law, or you need to at least consult with a political lawyer or other legal scholar who KNOWS the law, because it is obvious that you don't.
Number seven - I am still convinced - and nobody will be able to change my mind - that Donald Trump conspired with Russia to interfere with the 2016 election, and those facts will come to light in the future. The Trump Tower meeting was much more than anyone could ever imagine and the Trump/Putin bromance is much bigger than anyone could ever imagine too.
Number eight - Congressman Adam Schiff did NOT run a "totally partisan hearing in the basement of the Capitol." There were dozens of Republicans in those hearings and they had every opportunity to call witnesses but Trump used his bogus executive privilege to not allow anyone to testify. If Trump himself and his cronies are NOT GUILTY...if they are indeed innocent, then why the hell won't they - including Trump - testify under oath in a public hearing for all Americans to see and hear? The only "sham" is Trump and the Republicans.
GBD
END OF PART TWO OF THREE
PART THREE OF THREE
DeleteNumber nine - there was no "transcript" - at least no public transcript - of Trump's July 25th, 2019 telephone call with Zelensky. There was ONLY a summary.
Number ten - Congressman Schiff - as I have stated in the past - is "America's champion." I am so proud to be an American with Adam Schiff working so hard to protect our democracy.
Number eleven - I'm delighted to read that you have taught your children to be "good people," to "care about people," and to "love your family, God and country." But given some of your thoughts on Trump - who cares about nobody but himself and has no regard for our country - I have to wonder how you support such a man when you state that you want your kids to "care about people" and to "love" our "country."
Number twelve - it's not a matter of "expect(ing) handouts and freebies." However, when someone is unable to work because of physical or other disability, or for other reasons they cannot prevent, then it is up to our American government to take care of them. That's part of what our taxes are intended to do; to help people in need. And even if they can work, and do work, sometimes that's just not enough. No one...NO ONE...should be expected to work two jobs, or three jobs, or more, in order to survive and in order to feed, house and clothe themself and/or their families. Plus, life is more than just about work and everyone should be given the chance to enjoy life, not just work to merely survive. America does NOT give everyone "great opportunity." If you believe that, you're sadly mistaken. America unfortunately doesn't make all our "dream(s)" come true (although it should, and it would be great if America did) and so it can't be up to each and every American to "make the most of it" because for many Americans the "opportunity" is not given them.
GBD
END OF PART THREE OF THREE
First the name calling is saying “you do not have the intelligence of a gnat” in most schools today that would be considered “bullying.” Next President Trump and the greatest Mayor of all times Rudy Giuliani never “admitted to the world that Trump pressured Zelensky” that is just an outright lie, none of the administration has admitted to “pressuring anyone, same for Rudy! President Trump’s favor breaks no law and had nothing to do with the 2020 election! Number 4, Biden may or may not be a crook we don’t know, there has never been a full investigation, you bring up Hillary, we know she was and is a crook. Number 5, of course it is about 2016, since he won the left has been trying to impeach him. Number 6, once again you don’t know what you are talking about, the Congress required in the law granting the Ukraine the aid that the executive branch certify they are getting rid of corruption. Number 7, the only one who conspired with foreign agents in the 2016 election was the DNC and Hillary, paying Fusion GPS for the Steele dossier and in turn Steele paying the Russians. Number 8, I guess you saw a different hearing, I didn’t get to see the Republican witnesses like Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, the so called whistle blower, I must have missed them. Six of the Republican witnesses were all turned down by Schiff. And how many times did Schiff interrupt the Republicans and not allow their question, that is the definition of “partisan. Number 9, every one of the Dems witnesses that was on the call said the memo “summary” was accurate. Number 10, Schiff is a hater and a proven liar; he is a disgrace to his office and to America! Number 11, I believe President Trump is a caring loving man, who cares greatly about the “American” people and Loves America, he has proved it with everything he has done to make America great again! Number 12, It is not the government’s responsibility “to take care of them” it is there family, charitable organizations and faith based groups that always did it, yes the government should help. It is not America’s place to “ make all our "dream(s)" come true” just to hopefully make sure you have some opportunities. I believe that every American has some opportunities if they are willing to take the chance and work hard!

You're laughable!!! Truly...you...are...laughable. You really want to accuse ME of "bullying" when you worship...you honor...you revere...our country's "Bully-In-Chief." By absolute description, you have proven to "have the intelligence of a gnat." If you find that to be offensive then you need to examine yourself and either change your thinking or retain your label...nay your moniker...as having "the intelligence of a gnat."
Rudy "I'll be going to prison soon" Giuliani WILL be prosecuted and he will go to prison. If the charges are only federal, then Donald Trump - if he escapes conviction and removal from office, which he shouldn't - then Trump will pardon his crooked attorney. But remember, no President of the United States can pardon anyone for state charges and it's likely that Giuliani will be indicted and convicted on New York state charges too. But as you do with Trump, you put Giuliani on a pedestal that he doesn't in any way deserve. Rudy has indeed admitted that Trump pressured Ukraine's President Zelensky. No lie. Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney has confessed to it and numerous Trump-appointed individuals in his administration have testified under oath before Congress that what Trump did was impeachable, a violation of the U.S. Constitution, and, therefore, a violation of Trump's oath of office. The "favor" Trump asked for from Zelensky is, in fact, breaking the law. And he has abused his power and continues to abuse his power and obstruct Congress and justice on a daily basis. Republicans in the U.S. Senate must - as I write in my column - have some moral conscience and follow the oath of office they swore to, not to Donald Trump, not to the Republican Party, but to the Constitution of the United States of America, and, therefore, they should convict Trump and remove him from office. If they don't, they are complicit, and by doing so, they are - in essence - accessories, after the fact, to the crimes that Donald Trump has committed.
Asking Zelensky for the "favor" that he did, Trump DID break the law. As I wrote in my column above, "Mimicking a mob boss, Trump twisted Zelensky's arm to interfere in our upcoming 2020 election. What Trump did was a classic Mafia-like shakedown. When Trump said to Zelensky in that now infamous July 25th, 2019 telephone call, 'We do a lot for Ukraine' and 'spend a lot of effort and a lot of time' to help Ukraine, but that it's not always 'reciprocal,' so I want you 'to do us a favor though,' those words equate to Trump committing crimes. The bottom line is that Trump was pressuring a foreign government to investigate a political rival of the U.S. President." Trump wanted Zelensky to dig up dirt, which there is none, on former Vice President Joe Biden.

DeleteOnce again...you are laughable!!! Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was not and is not "a crook." The F.B.I. said she did nothing illegal. Hundreds of prosecutors nationwide said she did nothing illegal. And the United States Congress - a REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED Congress - said that Secretary Clinton did nothing illegal.
Congressional Democrats have been trying to prove - which they have done - that Trump is guilty and, therefore, should be impeached and removed from office because he is unfit to serve as our nation's President.
You can try to spin the military aid to Ukraine and bring up "corruption," but that had nothing to do with Vice President Biden or his son Hunter. Trump's actions were purely political for his own personal interests in his effort to cheat in the 2020 election, just as he did in the 2016 election. Hillary Clinton didn't conspire with Russia. That's a lie.
If Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell gets away with cheating the American people of a true and honest trial by rejecting Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's request for witnesses at Trump's Senate trial then I believe the majority of Americans will object (70 percent in a new poll this week who say Schumer's witnesses should be allowed) and Republicans will be crushed in 2020. The whistle-blower is protected by the Whistle-Blower Act and his or her identity must NOT be revealed.
Where's the transcript? We've never seen a REAL transcript of the Trump/Zelensky phone call. Only a "summary." And what about the second call? Giuliani continues to meet with the Ukrainians and has admitted to doing so in an attempt to destroy Joe Biden. Rudy confessed to forcing out Ambassador Yovanovitch because he knew that she would not have permitted Trump's illegal actions.
Congressman Adam Schiff is NOT a "hater," and he is NOT a "proven liar." Mr. Schiff is certainly NOT a "disgrace to his office" and he IS a champion for American democracy.

DeleteIf you can actually believe that Donald Trump cares about anything or anyone but himself then maybe a gnat even has more intelligence than you. Trump - in no way - "loves America." Trump loves himself and nobody else. He is not capable of loving anyone or anything but himself. He is the poster boy for narcissism. America was always great. Trump's ego didn't need to make it great "again," which he has not. He is destroying us.
Family, charitable organizations, faith-based groups - all good choices for people to get financial help when they need it. But it is not the RESPONSIBILITY of family, charities, and churches, temples and other houses or worship to give money to people in need. It is the RESPONSIBILITY of local, state and federal governments. Not every American has the opportunity to make their dreams come true, and every American deserves to have their dreams come true, but every American is NOT given the opportunity to do that. It's not only about "work(ing) hard." As I wrote previously, no person should have to work two or three or four jobs. One job with a liveable wage. And liveable means being comfortable, happy, and not having to worry how to buy food, pay for housing, and overall support themselves or others in their families. Everyone should be able to buy a home. Everyone should be able to enjoy life. Everyone should not go in to debt because of health problems or because of a college education. Not everyone has those opportunities. Democrats will make that happen. Republicans don't want to...and Donald Trump doesn't care.
