"CAPTAIN QUEEG" IS LIVING IN THE WHITE HOUSE

Americans - at least enough who voted Donald Trump in to The White House - were bamboozled in to thinking that he was fit to serve as President of the United States.  And now...it is frightening to think that our country has a man sitting behind The Oval Office desk whose mind is cluttered with conspiracy theory cobwebs.

Although there is no evidence whatsoever of voter fraud in the 2016 election... Trump is of the mistaken belief...that up to 5-million ballots were cast by - what he calls - "illegals."  And according to sources close to NBC News...Trump spent the first ten minutes of a meeting with Congressional leaders...that he held at The White House on Monday, January 23rd, 2017...regurgitating his nauseating claim...that he lost the popular vote because of people who did not have the legitimate right to be in the polling booths last November 8th.  There is no documented proof...no verification of any means...that Trump's assertion is valid.  And as we all know... Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by nearly 3-million people.

Trump's frustrating obsession is aggravating lawmakers on Capitol Hill - especially some Republicans - who are practically pleading with Trump to put a lid on it.  The GOP's Lindsey Graham wants Trump to knock off the nonsense.  The South Carolina Senator is "begging (Trump to) share with us the information (he has) about this or please stop saying it."  Graham is concerned that "to suggest that the 2016 election was conducted in a fashion that millions of people voted illegally...undermines faith in our democracy."  Meanwhile, Independent Senator Bernie Sanders - the former Democratic Presidential Candidate - says Trump is being "nonsensical" and "delusional."

Trump is fixated with the notion of numbers...as he also spent the first weekend as the temporary tenant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue...telling Americans there were more people attending his inauguration...than when Barack Obama was first sworn in as President in 2009.  Of course, when comparing photos of both inaugurations, there was - without question - more people at President Obama's eight years ago.  But, White House senior adviser, Kellyanne Conway...in an intense interview on the Sunday, January 22nd edition of NBC's Meet The Press...argued with Chuck Todd...insisting there are "alternative facts" to this matter.  But how can there be "alternative facts?"  It is impossible to have "alternative facts."  Facts are facts.  Any alternative would be fiction.  In other words...falsehoods.  Lies.

Somehow Donald Trump needs to undergo a psychiatric evaluation for - what some individuals have referred as - his paranoid behavior.  As I tweeted on Monday night, January 23rd..."Trump's compulsive fascination with voter and crowd numbers is like Captain Queeg in The Caine Mutiny counting strawberries."  And - if you saw the movie...or read the book - we all know what happened to Captain Queeg.

And that's The Controversy for today.
