Donald Trump needs to be taught a hard lesson. And the United States Congress should do it. In fact, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives...will indeed do it.
Trump has spent decades as the President of The Trump Organization. And in that capacity, he has been the one and only boss of his company. But those days are over come January 20th, 2017. Once Trump is handed the keys to The White House, he's not going to have his way with everything he wants to do in America... just because "Donald says."
The GOP controlled House...along with the Senate, which is nearly even-steven with 52 Republicans and, in reality, 48 Democrats...are going to set Trump straight if he attempts to think he's..."bigger than his britches"...when he deals with Congress.
In the coming days, it is inevitable that President Obama will impose sanctions on President Vladimir Putin and his Russian Federation for interfering with America's Presidential election on November 8th, 2016, which - without question - affected the outcome of a race that otherwise would have been won by Hillary Clinton. And Putin - who calls Donald Trump..."His Excellency"...is likely to be floored...when the U.S. Congress continues with Mr. Obama's retaliation against the former KGB leader...after Trump has taken his seat behind The Oval Office desk. Such action is not only going to anger Putin and put a strain on his "bromance" with Trump...but expect America's "Tweeter-In-Chief" to be banging out all sorts of social media nasties towards the legislative branch of the U.S. government. Trump's honeymoon with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan will soon be a marriage that results in an annulment.
Our founding fathers created a three-branch system for our country. And it's my belief that the U.S. Supreme Court will remain an eight-member bench if Trump nominates a Justice who is too conservative; one who supports overturning Roe vs. Wade...the destruction of marriage equality...and the demolition of human rights for all Americans. Be aware that incoming Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer - Democrat of New York - simply needs to sway three moderate Republicans to go against Trump...and the Senate will never approve any Trump nomination to the High Court.
And then there's..."the wall." Donald Trump insisted throughout his campaign that Mexico would pay for it. But our friends to the south...will not. And Trump better realize quickly that Congress will not authorize one penny of funding for such an expensive and ridiculous venture...which is not necessary nor is the answer to immigration reform.
For eighteen months, Donald Trump has appeared to make his run for President... and the post-election period - in to a television reality game show. Trump thinks his..."soon to have"...Presidential power...means he's the..."Simon Says"...of Washington, DC and our 50 states. "Donald says do this" and "Donald says do that." But Trump is not "Simon." And although the two chambers of Congress are led by Republicans...our nation's Senators and Representatives will not abide by Trump's rules of the game. Undoubtedly, the legislators will prove to Trump that all Congress will hear is..."Do this" and "Do that." And without "Simon"...nobody's going to listen... to Donald.
And that's The Controversy for today.

Gary, I will start by saying that I believe that Russia did meddle in the Presidential election, what I don’t believe is that it in any way changed the outcome. Hillary ignored states that she believed would hold behind the “blue wall” on top of that if you take away the far left states of New York, California, Massachusetts and a few others the rest of this country wanted a change and a push to the Right. I believe the House and Senate will work with soon to be President Trump and pass most if not all of his agenda. I believe they will secure the boarder, lower taxes, repeal and replace Obama Care, strengthen our military and much more. As for the Supreme Court I believe that it will be at 9 by April 1st. I believe Chuck Schumer will have a harder time trying to keep his 48 in check and won’t have the time to try and get any GOP Senators on his side. You have 10 Democrat Senators from States that went for Trump that are up for re-election in 2018 and don’t want to be seen as obstructionist , Senator Joe Manchin who says he is “committed to working with President-elect Trump” , many others will do the same. I think the House and Senate are looking forward to working with President Trump and they will agree on most issues and on those issues they disagree I think they will come to a compromise, yes that dirty word to the Democrats, COMPROMISE. Something President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have fought against time and time again. To the left when they were the majority, compromise meant we are in charge so do it our way. We will soon have a President who knows how to make deals, give a little take a little and get the job done. I believe our Country is headed on the right path, a more conservative and constitutional path domestically and stronger world super power on the world stage, liked and respected by our friends and feared by our enemies.

Obviously, I wholeheartedly disagree with you. But thank you for expressing your views.
Unlike Donald Trump, at least you - who support him - believe the Russians "did meddle in the Presidential election." Trump is still not willing to say that. However, I strongly feel that Russia - in concert with Wikileaks - did, in fact, change the outcome of our election. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. But let's put that aside, for a moment, since our system unfortunately elects a President based on an arcane process that was created by our founding fathers more than 200 years ago when there were 13 states (or so), not 50 states with 325-million Americans. But again, let's put that matter aside. Mrs. Clinton lost the electoral vote because a total of 80-thousand Democrats in three states (Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin), who did vote in 2012...didn't vote in 2016. About 129-million Americans voted on November 8th. But the election was decided because another 80-thousand people...didn't vote. Without Vladimir Putin and the Russians interfering with our election...and/or without FBI Director James Comey not writing his letter, 11 days before the election...Hillary Clinton wins. I believe that without any doubt whatsoever. It had nothing to do with - as you say - "the rest of this country want(ing) a change and a push to the Right."
The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives will work with Trump on certain matters. But Congress will not pass - as you suggest - "most if not all of his agenda." There may be some form of tougher security on our southern border, but there will be no wall built. Not ever. Taxes will be cut for the wealthy (Trump's rich friends), but the middle-class will suffer with higher taxes. The Affordable Care Act will not be "repeal(ed) and "replace(d)" as Trump stated throughout his campaign. He has already promised (as has Congress) to keep pre-existing conditions, to keep children of parents with insurance on their policies until the age of 26, and to continue covering women's health issues, plus other pertinent points of the Affordable Care Act. Furthermore, it could take years before anything changes with President Obama's signature piece of legislation.

DeleteNow...I believe your thinking about the Supreme Court is unrealistic. A Justice will never be nominated and approved by April 1st, as Senator Schumer will indeed keep his 48 Democrats "in check" and he will get three moderate Republicans to go along with him and not confirm a Supreme Court nominee. That is, of course, unless Trump chooses someone who is more in line with liberal thinking and who does not destroy the rights of women, of gays, and of all human beings - as I noted in my column. I truly feel that Senators will vote with their brains and their hearts and not with their wallets, which you suggest when you say they don't want to be voted out in 2018. And speaking of 2018, unless Donald Trump surprises more than half our country and ends up doing a good job in the next two years - which I doubt - then Americans will vote to change the Senate and House in 2018 and both will be controlled by the Democrats.
As for your wrong notion that President Obama, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wouldn't "compromise" when the Democrats were in power...it was John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, along with other Republicans, who would not "compromise." McConnell admitted it after President Obama was elected in 2008. McConnell swore that his goal was to not work with Mr. Obama and to make him a one-term President. That part of his goal failed since the President was elected to a second term.
Your comment that "To the left - when they were the majority - compromise meant we are in charge so do it our way" is absolutely untrue. Donald Trump's "deal" making will not "get the job done." The United States of America is not "headed on the right path." To move our country in a "more conservative path" is the definition of demise for our nation. And it will not happen.

END OF PART TWO
First, the Electoral College was created in part to protect smaller states and make sure all states have input into the Presidential Election. That still works today. Second, you said 80,000 Democrats that voted in 2012 and didn’t vote in 2016. How do you know that these same people voted Democrat in 2012 and stayed home in 2016? Couldn’t it be that 80,000 people voted differently this time and many Republicans and Independent voters stayed home , I’m not saying it happened that way, I am saying you don’t know. We can agree to disagree. Third, as for the House and Senate I predict that by March first a bill to repeal and replace Obama Care will be on the floor and pass and enforce within a year, 18 months max. The replacement will have protections for pre-existing and keeping children on their parent’s plans, there may be additional cost for that coverage but it will be available. The GOP has always had those items in any plan they put forward. The Federal Government controls and mandates on healthcare will be gone. Rates will go down and coverage will be better. As for the Supreme Court, Trump will pick from the list of about 20 he put out before the election, according to the transition team he has narrowed it down to about 4. He will not pick a Liberal person just as Obama did not pick a conservative one when appointing Sotomayor or Kagan both far left. Elections have consequences. Fourth, about the left not compromising, Reid and Pelosi wouldn’t compromise on anything, when doing the ACA Pelosi even locked the Republicans out of the room. Obama once said the Republicans can come along for the ride as long as they sit in the back. The direction of the Country needs to be conservative, the more liberal we get the more down the tubes we go. This Country has survived because it has always been based on the Constitution and Conservatism which go hand in hand.

Your thoughts on the Electoral College are both correct and incorrect. What was in the 18th Century is no longer applicable in the 21st Century. The reasons in the past were mostly so the people of New York City, Boston and Philadelphia would not be the only ones to choose the President. That was - as I said earlier and as I have stated in other columns - in a time when America was populated by a mere "few"...not by 325-million people with 50 states. If your explanation was germaine today then states like Wyoming and North Dakota should not have the same amount of U.S. Senators as New York and California. The Electoral College will be abolished at some point - and just in case you don't know - as I have had this debate with others - it would not require a Constitutional Amendment to abolish it. If you need to know why - I'm sure you can research it on your own and discover that I am correct.
Yes I do know about the 80-thousand voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin because each state's Secretary of State has confirmed that there were a total of 80-thousand Democrats in those three states who did not vote at all in 2016, but that did in 2012. Now, of course, we don't know how those persons actually voted, but since there were 80-thousand Democrats who did vote in 2012, but didn't in 2016, we can only come to a realistic conclusion that if they had voted in 2016 then, based on the data, Hillary Clinton would have won the election.
I stick by my words regarding the Affordable Care Act. You can predict that a bill might be "on the floor" in March. That is meaningless. There are tons of bills on the floor of the House and Senate that sometimes take years before ever getting passed - if ever passed at all. It could, however, take years to actually change the ACA. Plus, if you really think that any Senator or Congressman worth his or her salt is going to take health care away from 20 to 30-million Americans, then I've got a bridge to sell you. As the saying goes..."It ain't gonna happen." Oh Trump and the Republicans may make some tweaks...and hopefully they will be for the better...but to use the phrase "repeal and replace" will never become true. As for rates going down...if premiums go down, all they will then do is raise the deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums so, therefore, those who are receiving health insurance through the Healthcare.gov Marketplace will not be able to afford to go to doctors and hospitals, and people will be back to going to emergency rooms and then not paying bills that soar in to the thousands, tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of dollars. And all that will do is cost taxpayers more money. Overall, that is not a smart way to go...and so it won't happen as you seem to think.

PART TWO OF TWO
DeleteDonald Trump may nominate a conservative to the Supreme Court, at first. But when that nominee is not confirmed - which he or she won't be - then Trump will have to nominate someone who is more moderate, perhaps even more liberal leaning, and therefore, then and only then will a Trump nominee be approved. Let me remind you of something of great importance. As much as I dislike Donald Trump - the person - for his actions, his profanities and his offensive behavior - you must realize that for 65 years or more of Trump's 70 years...he has been a registered Democrat. I believe Trump ran as a Republican for the same reason that he does everything else...in order to have the opportunity to win something. If Trump had run for the Democratic nomination against Hillary Clinton, he would have in no way beaten her in the primaries. As a Republican, Trump was able to bully his way in to defeating 16 other GOP candidates...and it was his challengers fault - and their mistake - to not beat up on Trump in the same fashion as he beat up on them. Therefore, as far as the Supreme Court, nobody changes at 70 to all of a sudden become Pro-Life when he's been Pro-Choice all his life. I could go on and on, but you get my point. Trump knows Chuck Schumer will bury a conservative candidate for the High Court. Mark my words that a Justice nominee will be someone who is more acceptable by the Democrats...otherwise...he or she will not be confirmed. And Trump knows it. But there is one other very valid point I need to make regarding the Supreme Court. Even if Trump does nominate a conservative...and even if the Senate were to confirm him or her...remember this...that person is replacing Antonin Scalia - who was, as we know, a conservative. But as we also know, the Affordable Care Act, Marriage Equality and many other cases have been decided upon in a 5 to 4 decision in favor of the ACA (twice) and Marriage Equality...and others. So even with a conservative Justice replacing Scalia...it's still not going to make much of a difference in the balance of the Court, as it has been for years. But, that all being said, I still believe that my earlier points will be more in tune than your thinking.
You're another Republican that continues to buy in to the falsehood that Republicans were "locked out" of discussions regarding the Affordable Care Act. There is documented proof that such nonsense did not happen.
America will never go back to a conservative direction. Liberalism - or at the very least, a moderate liberalism - is the only path to continued success for the United States of America. Your remark that "This country has survived because it has always been based on the Constitution and Conservatism, which go hand in hand" is untrue in every sense of your comment.
We are done here, as there is nothing more we can debate.

Once again GBD you are wrong, the reason each state has 2 Senators is the exact reason the Electoral College is important. Two Senators make all states equal in the Senate without regard to population; the Electoral College makes every State’s Presidential Election important without regard to population. Yes, every state plus DC hold their own Presidential election. As to the abolishment of the College without a Constitutional Amendment you are wrong again, the Constitution grants the State Legislature the right to how that state appoints electors to the college. If the state legislature chooses to appoint based on total national popular vote they have that right, but they are still appointing people to the Electoral College, so under those circumstances the College still exist. The law creating the ACA will be repealed and replaced, the new plan will not take insurance away from 20-30million people, it will change the way many of them get insurance and in some cases they will have to pay more. I believe they will be able to insurance across state lines, people will be able to get basic policies that cover major items or full coverage all depends on what you what to pay. Peoples subsidies will come from welfare because that is what it is, welfare! Healthcare.gov will go away as will the mandate and federal control. I will not continue about the Court, the Democrat Party and your hatred for the next President is disgusting and beneath the dignity of an American. America must be more conservative or we will not survive as prescribed by our Constitution which is what makes America the land of the Free and Home of the Brave. Liberalism takes away individuals freedoms for political correctness, it does not take a village!

You are the reason why Democrats have to reduce ourselves - sometimes - to what you call..."name-calling." So I say at the outset...you are a moron. But besides being a moron...you are a jerk. I would use stronger language, but I forbid it from my readers, so I certainly will not use the vulgarity that people like Donald Trump and others have used.
Your scenario regarding the Senators makes no sense based on your Electoral College thinking. I will just leave it at that or my blood pressure will skyrocket higher than it already is following the lunacy of your statement above.
You are VERY, VERY WRONG about how the Electoral College can be abolished. You need an education so I suppose I have been elected - no pun intended - to teach you. If you knew anything, you'd know that the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact - or NPVIC - can nullify the Electoral College without any Constitutional Amendment. The NPVIC is an agreement that is before each of our 50 states and the District of Columbia. If a state (and/or DC) passes the NPVIC, it promises to assign its electors to whichever Presidential candidate wins the national popular vote. It would only be effective, though, when enough states have joined the NPVIC, thus guaranteeing a candidate with 270 electoral votes. Ten states and Washington, DC have already joined the NPVIC...for a total of 165 electoral votes so far...or 61.1 percent of the votes needed for the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact to become effective. If only a few more states throw their hat in to the ring (so to speak) and join the NPVIC, their combined electoral votes will reach 270 and the NPVIC will be legally binding. Therefore, NO CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT will have been needed to abolish the Electoral College. At that moment, the Electoral College will become obsolete. Should this happen before November 2020, in our next election, the winner of the popular vote will automatically be awarded the necesssary electoral votes and, therefore, that candidate would become President of the United States under the U.S. Constitution. Trust me...what I have written are indeed facts. But here's another fact that will knock your socks off. States that refuse to join the NPVIC can do absolutely nothing to stop the popular vote winner from becoming President. Feel free to check it out. You will find that I'm 100 percent correct. So don't come back to me with some mumbo-jumbo lies and other made-up stories, because my research is accurate and documented.
Furthermore, the issue of the heavy populated cities and states regarding the Electoral College was only applicable when we had 13 states (the original 13 colonies) and perhaps a handful more. Nobody in the 18th Century could ever have imagined the United States of America being a nation of 50 states with more than 325-million people. Therefore, your comment lacks substance.

DeleteIt pains me that I have to speak to someone in the tone that I have, but I merely am doing so because of your tone, which justifies me to react in the same fashion, which I do not like doing.
Your thoughts on the Affordable Care Act will not happen the way you think it will. Don't spin this to your liking because it will never happen. You speak of welfare as if it was a dirty word. Your tone disgusts me. America was built on the fact that...those who have...should help...those who need. Welfare is for people who are unable to afford to live because it is simply too damn expensive to live and because they are not being paid a "living wage." But what most people don't seem to understand...or don't want to understand...three-quarters of those individuals who are on welfare...have a job. A new study by the University of California’s Berkeley Center for Labor Research And Education confirms that 75 percent of those Americans who are on welfare, Medicaid, food stamps and other programs directed toward the poor are members of families that have at least one worker among them. So don't make welfare sound as if it was something bad. It's bad because some rich people...and I do say SOME...not all...but some of the wealthy will not pay people what they deserve to be paid.
I happen to know someone who owns a company and most of his employees are paid no more than minimum wage. That's still only $7.25 an hour - except for certain states like New York where Governor Andrew Cuomo (a possible future President) raised the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Let's say the person I know earns 10-million dollars a year. Now I have no idea what this person's income is...but just for the sake of this scenario, let's say he makes an annual salary of 10-million bucks. I believe he could get more out of his employees by doubling their income from $7.25 to $14.50. So instead of the boss making 10-million dollars...he'll only make 9 and a half million...or 9 million. There's too much greed in our country and not enough giving - especially when it comes to company owners who should be paying their employees more money. Again...that's NOT ALL of the wealthy...but the majority.
Healthcare.gov may "go away"...or maybe not. But in any event, there will still be a domain name for people to sign-up for their healthcare and it will be federally regulated.

DeleteYour final statement is why I had to be so harsh with my language towards you. For you to say that "the Democrat Party and your hatred for the next President is disgusting and beneath the dignity of an American" is beneath the dignity of a human being. You represent the scum of the Earth by you making such a despicable statement...not to mention some of your earlier hateful remarks. I truly wish I knew who you were, but you - like most of my conservative readers - hide behind the "anonymous" banner. Republicans have personally hated President Barack Obama and everything he stands for since he took office nearly 8 years ago. There has been racism towards him - and don't say there hasn't been - before he was even elected in 2008. President Obama is still - as of this week - the most admired man in America. And guess what - in case you didn't see the survey - Hillary Clinton is the most admired woman in America...and both, according to the Gallup Poll, have held those two spots throughout the last 8 years for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
America will continue moving to the "left" in order for our nation to survive. You are a hater. And haters believe "liberalism takes away individuals' freedoms." It is not true...and only haters feel that way. Not all Republicans...just haters. Haters...like you.

END OF PART THREE OF THREE
GBD, I am not one who name calls but I must say you are the MORON! I was somewhat agreeing with you on the Electoral College and you weren’t smart enough or educated enough to understand it. If a State through their legislative procedure adopts the NPVIC it becomes the method that that state chooses it members to the Electoral College. The College does not get abolished it just becomes a pass through to the popular vote. It also means that any State can by its legislative procedure go back to or change its method of picking Electors. If a combination of States that total 270 or more votes adopt the NPVIC it in theory makes the national popular vote the deciding vote. The Electoral College can only be abolished by Constitutional Amendment. If that happens which it might it will disenfranchise over half the States from participating in the Presidential campaigns. That just proves the Lefts distain for the 10th Amendment and States rights. I never said welfare was a dirty word, the reason I call it what it is that it determines how it should be paid; it should not be paid for from other people Health insurance premiums. It should be part of welfare. Your thinking on the minimum wage is wrong the average business owner in the US that has minimum wage or close to it employees has an average personal income of under $500,000 with 15 employees. The increase of the minimum to $15 would lower his income to under $200,000 and if you add into it the increase in costs from his vendors the owner’s net income unless he raised his prices drastically would be less than ZERO. All jobs lost and he would be out of business. In reference to your last comment the only SCUM OF THE EARTH are those who claim to love American and the Constitution and refuse to accept the FACT that Donald Trump won and refuse to accept him as there President. What has brought this Country down has been liberalism and it’s stealing from those who have worked for it and give it away to others. There is NO FREE LUNCH! We must always help those who can’t help themselves. We must come up with a better solution for those who can but won’t! I DO NOT HATE ANYONE, by reading what you wrote here proves YOU ARE THE HATER!
ReplyDeleteI feel like Dan Aykroyd in the old Saturday Night Live sketch with Jane Curtin when they did Point/Counterpoint...and Dan would say to Jane..."Jane, you ignorant slut." You simply don't know the laws. I am not a lawyer, but my explanation above regarding abolishing the Electoral College comes directly from several Constitutional and legal scholars. I trust THEM...not you. It is exactly what I stated...which would abolish the Electoral College...and a Constitutional Amendment is not needed. Furthermore, by abolishing the Electoral College would not "disenfranchise over half the states from participating in the Presidential campaign" - as you seem to think. That is pure nonsense...as I have explained in previous remarks.
DeleteI refuse to continue this conversation or even give you more "air time" (so to speak) about your remarks about health insurance and welfare. You are clueless on those matters. No company will "go out of business" by raising the minimum wage to 15-dollars. Governor Andrew Cuomo raised the minimum wage to 15 bucks in New York State and nobody's gone out of business.
You and other Republicans don't seem to get it, even though I - and millions of other Americans - have stated it since November 9th. It's not that we won't accept Donald Trump the Republican nominee as President. We won't accept Donald Trump the PERSON as President. Democrats have accepted Republican Presidents in the past - whether they be Ronald Reagan, Bush 41, Bush 43 and others. But they were honorable people who dignified the Office of President, even though Democrats might have disagreed with them politically. Even Richard Nixon fulfilled those qualities before he decided to cover-up Watergate. If Nixon had not participated in the "cover-up" and he had come before the American people and said, "I had nothing to do with the break in (which he didn't) but I have learned about the illegal action and I'm cleaning house and people responsible will go to jail" the American people would have applauded Nixon. Donald Trump is an offensive, rude, profane, egotistical, narcissistic, misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-Semitic (even though his son-in-law and daughter are Jewish, as she converted), racist bigot. THAT...is why Democrats and others refuse to accept Trump as President. America was built on the rich helping the poor. Poor people are not "stealing from those who have worked." Your comments are beyond despicable. I don't know if this column is the first one you've responded to or if you have written to me in the past - as you and most Republicans who read my commentaries and who write to me, remain anonymous - but so many of you Republicans just don't want to realize how the United States of America was built and how we became the greatest country of Earth. And yes, we are already GREAT. No...YOU ARE THE HATER...and it seems as if you always will be.
GBD
GBD, you should check your information, the NPVIC’s own website http://www.nationalpopularvote.com states that “The National Popular Vote bill preserves the Electoral College and state control of election”. Next stop spewing your lies New York does not have a $15 per hour minimum wage, as of 1/1/17 it has a $10.25 minimum wage. In Seattle where they raised it to $11 an hour the average minimum wage employee has lost $5.22 a week in income because most employers have cut hours to compensate for the increased hourly rate. The fast food industry in Seattle the largest employer of minimum wage employees has announced that they plan to eliminate cashier jobs and go with self-service ordering to offset the increase, so you have higher wages for some and more unemployment for others. You need to go back to school and learn US History; America was not built by the government forcing the so called rich helping the poor, for the first 100 plus years it was done by communities helping their neighbors not the government. The government always was meant to give everyone the opportunity to help themselves. I am not the hater; you show your hate in every column. Stop your lies, stop your hate, start being a better American and accept Donald Trump as yours and all Americans next President!
ReplyDeleteShame, shame, shame. Once again, you prove that you are a hater. And once again, you prove that you are ignorant and have no knowledge of facts.
DeleteAs noted previously, numerous Constitutional scholars have stated exactly what I printed earlier about how the Electoral College can be abolished without a Constitutional Amendment. That is fact, so I will leave it at that. So STOP spewing lies.
As for your lie that "New York does not have a $15 per hour minimum wage"...read the following. It comes directly from Governor Andrew Cuomo.
"Andrew Cuomo
November 12, 2016 ·
The state of New York has a proud legacy as the progressive capital of the nation, and that is more important today than ever before.
As New Yorkers, we have fundamentally different philosophies than what Donald Trump laid out in his campaign.
So let me be absolutely clear: If anyone feels that they are under attack, I want them to know that the state of New York – the state that has the Statue of Liberty in its harbor – is their refuge.
Whether you are gay or straight, Muslim or Christian, rich or poor, black or white or brown, we respect all people in the state of New York.
It's the very core of what we believe and who we are. But it's not just what we say, we passed laws that reflect it, and we will continue to do so, no matter what happens nationally. We won’t allow a federal government that attacks immigrants to do so in our state.
We are a state of immigrants.
We are the state that raised the minimum wage to $15.
We are the state that passed Paid Family Leave.
We are the state that passed marriage equality.
We are New York, and we will stand up for you. And on that, I will never compromise.
Count on it."
Those words above - in quotes - was from the Office of the Governor of the State of New York.
You do love to insult. So here's one right back at you. You can go back to school and learn U.S. history. America was indeed built so that the rich help the poor. You can say what you want, but you only reveal more hatred by your selfish remarks.
So now, stop YOUR lies. Stop YOUR hate. And STOP with your nonsense about Donald Trump.
We are done with this subject, so STOP your comments. None further from you about my commentary will be published. Enough already.

I know you said you would not publish this and since reading your column I know you won’t because you don’t care about the truth all you care about is your lies and those of the Democrats. The Electoral College CAN NOT be abolished without a Constitutional Amendment that is a FACT, read the NPVIC’s own website it says it in plain English. But you don’t care about facts. New York State passed a $15 an hour minimum wage but it does not go into effect until 2021 as of January 1, 2017 it is raised to $10.25. So NO $15 an hour in New York in 2017, once again a fact! You started with the insults not I, you’re a name caller and a hater, anyone who reads you column knows that. Please show me one bit of fact that prior to 1920 any federal government program that had the so called rich had to help the poor! You won’t find one because once again what you wrote is a lie! There is no nonsense about Donald Trump, if you are an American then on January 20, 2017 he is your President, if he is not maybe you’re not!
ReplyDeleteI - and other Democrats - do not lie. And it's haters like you who are the liars.
DeleteYou are WRONG. Period. End of discussion. The Electoral College CAN be abolished without a Constitutional Amendment. That has been confirmed by numerous Constitutional scholars on various television networks.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says in his letter - which I included in its entirety above - that "We are the state that raised the minimum wage to $15." That is a direct quote from Governor Cuomo.
America was, in fact, built on the rich helping the poor. That is not a lie. That is the truth.
You can spin all your crap any way you want, but you are WRONG. You are a vulgar, vile and venomous person...and you certainly are a HATER.
You are an absolute disgrace to the United States of America and to the human race for you to say that I'm not an American because I don't support Donald Trump. Do me a favor, I always welcome readers to write their views to me after reading my column, but if you are going to be as vicious as you are...then why are you reading me? Why are you commenting? We are done here, as I have stated earlier. I've already written two new commentaries since the one above, so stop already. This matter is closed.
