In his press conference on Friday afternoon, December 16th, 2016...President Obama did what he had to do, but not what I wanted him to do...nor do I think what he wanted to do.

I wanted the President to tell the American people that Russia's cyber-hacking affected the outcome of the November 8th Presidential election causing detrimental influence that resulted in an unfair voting process and a loss for Hillary Clinton.

I wanted President Obama to say that it's better than quite possible that if there was no electronic tampering by President Vladimir Putin and his Russian comrades... and if they did not give stolen e-mails and other information to Wikileaks for worldwide release before the election...Mrs. Clinton could have...or even would have...defeated Donald Trump.

But Mr. Obama couldn't say that...or didn't want to say that...because it might cause more turmoil to the transition process with his successor.

Will President Obama retaliate against Putin and his Russian nation?  The President wouldn't and couldn't tip his hand, but I will bet that before Inauguration Day, Mr. Obama will strike - and strike hard - with whatever idea is up his sleeve... and he will take action and get back at Putin for illegally meddling in America's election.  The President went on the record by saying, "There is no dispute that the Russians carried this out.  (And) not much happens in Russia without Vladimir Putin."  President Obama did tell Russia to "stop it"...but the damage was already done.

Not only have the CIA and 16 other U.S. intelligence agencies definitively confirmed that Putin and Russia were behind the attack of computers operated by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta...as well as the release of certain confidential information to Wikileaks...but FBI Director James Comey issued a statement on Friday, December 16th that his Bureau is in total agreement with the intelligence community's findings.  Plus, let me remind you that Putin is "in bed" (figuratively, not literally) with Donald Trump's choice for Secretary of State - the chief executive officer of ExxonMobil - Rex Tillerson.  All that being said...as President Obama noted while talking to reporters... "a survey"...a "credible source"...says that "37 percent of Republican voters" accept the actions of the Russian leader.  Mr. Obama went on to say, "Over a third of Republican voters approve of Vladimir Putin, the former head of the KGB.  Ronald Reagan would roll over in his grave."  How can so many Americans believe in a foreign hostile adversary who Republican Senator John McCain calls "a thug," "a murderer" and "a butcher?"  How did we get to this point in the United States of America?

It's a shame that President Obama couldn't advise the American people how - I think - he really feels.  I do believe - and of course I'm only speculating - that when the President climbs in to bed at night, he shouts in to his pillow that his former Secretary of State should be the one sworn in as our nation's 45th President on January 20th, 2017.

We...the American people...along with President Obama... now know for sure that our Presidential election this year was not legitimate. Someday - a year from now or in the next ten years - whether it's in his memoir...or perhaps in an exclusive interview on 60 Minutes or some other prestigious television news broadcast - Barack Obama will, for the lack of a better phrase - "spill the beans" - and divulge his innermost personal thoughts on Putin...on the Russians...on Trump...and on how Secretary Clinton was cheated out of the Presidency in Election 2016.  But for the time being, President Obama needed to be extremely careful with his language at his news conference.  And although part of me would have liked the President to truly speak his mind...and speak what's in his heart...I respect his reasons and know that he couldn't.  But the other part of me...certainly wishes he did.

And that's The Controversy for today.

  1. You say Obama did what he had to do not what you wanted him to do. Maybe he did what was the right and backed by the facts, maybe the email hacking and release didn’t change that many votes. 3 weeks or so before the election (before all the emails were released) Clinton was at 48% in the Real Clear Average for national vote and on November 8 she got 48.2%, so what changed? There is no evidence that anyone hacked the voting machines. You need to look state by state and that is where she lost. She beat Trump by almost 6,000,000 votes in NY and California combined and lost the rest by over 3,000,000. There is NO PROOF that Rex Tillerson is in “bed” with Putin and you shouldn’t spread fake news about people. He received an award from Russia which has been given to many people and his was for the work and deal made by EXXON with Russia. Which they say saved or created more than 1000 US jobs. You made the statement “It's a shame that President Obama couldn't advise the American people how - I think - he really feels”, how do you what he thinks? Hillary Clinton was not cheated out of the Presidency, she lost because she was not good for the average American and only cared about the base.

    1. No. As I said...President Obama did what he HAD to do...NOT...what I WANTED him to do...nor what HE really wanted to do. Vladimir Putin and the Russians interfered in our election and was an influence on Trump "winning." Eleven days before the election...eleven days before James Comey's damaging letter...Hillary Clinton was all set to win the election. Between the "dynamic duo" of Putin and Comey...Americans who were going to vote for Mrs. Clinton...decided not to vote at all.

There is no "fake news" about Rex Tillerson being "in bed" with Putin...as there's enough evidence all across the board. You need to acknowledge the facts.

Hillary Clinton was cheated out of the Presidency...and it will be proven in the not too distant future that Donald Trump is bad for America. He just may end up being the worst President in our history. Time will tell.

      We are done.

  2. Hillary Clinton has nobody but herself to blame for her loss. Today the Federal Court released the search warrant that was at the heart of the reopening of the email case on Oct 30. They found 27 email chains containing classified information “Out of the 27 email chains, six email chains contained information that was classified at the Secret level at the time the emails were sent, and information in four of those email chains remains classified at that level now,”. Just to add when the FBI requested the search warrant the affidavit to the Court stated it was related to a “criminal investigation” of Hillary Clinton. Clinton was not cheated out of anything! Tillerson has been doing business in Russia for years as CEO of Exxon, he has never had a “personal” relationship with Putin everything has been based on business. That’s not being “in bed” with someone. I will not acknowledge your made-up facts. As for Trump being the worst President in history, step one you recognized him as President, more important if he does what he campaigned on, boarder security, no un-vetted refugees coming here, lower taxes, originalist Judges to the Courts, beefs up the military and more, he will be on the best list not worst list where Carter and Obama are! Time will tell!

    1. You Republicans do like to make up stories about e-mails. Here is a direct quote from CBS News..."Ultimately, they contained no evidence of wrongdoing by Clinton." And as New York magazine wrote today..."The unsealing of this warrant and the less-than-convincing case it makes for reigniting the investigation into Clinton’s emails will only further fuel the belief that Comey cost her the election." The report that Fox News wants to spin is totally false. The fact is that Hillary Clinton was indeed cheated out of the Presidency by both FBI Director James Comey and by Russia's Vladimir Putin.

If you really believe that Rex Tillerson and Putin don't have a "personal relationship" then you must live in Fantasyland. Tillerson has admitted to such a friendship with Putin since 1999.

I'm not a moron. Obviously I have to acknowledge the fact that come January 20th, 2017, Trump will be sworn in as President. That doesn't mean that I will accept him as my President. As I wrote to someone on Facebook recently, "Donald Trump is not my President. Not yet. And he's going to have to prove a whole hell of a lot to me if he's ever going to be MY President."

Trump will never lower taxes for anybody but the rich. But if he does some of the other things you discuss, he'll be lucky to get elected dog catcher.

As for President Obama...as I have stated on numerous occasions...he will be ranked by historians as one of the greatest Presidents ever to occupy The White House. And...as for President Jimmy Carter...you seem to forget he brought peace between Israel and Egypt...and he was successful with numerous other achievements. If you're one of those Republicans who blame President Carter for not getting the 52 Iranian hostages home before 444 days...remember that Mr. Carter did, in fact, get them home...and nobody was killed. They came home safe and sound. And don't say Ronald Reagan gets the credit for the hostages' release...historians have all shown that Iran released the hostages at 12 noon on January 20th, 1981, only so the actual release wouldn't fall under President Carter's term. But anybody who knows anything about anything knows that it was President Carter...and his team...and only President Carter and his team...who got the hostages released. Don't argue with me on this...because that is a fact.
