BANNON: A JEW HATER IN THE WHITE HOUSE

After reading the commentary below, please express your own thoughts.  Instructions on how to do so are written at the bottom of this column.  Thank you.

Donald Trump's selection of Stephen Bannon as his chief strategist and senior counselor makes me sick.  It's bad enough that not even half the voters in the 2016 election won Trump the Presidency...but for Trump himself to appoint to his staff...a man who is a hater of Jews...makes my blood boil.

Bannon was the chief executive officer of Trump's campaign for President.  But when he was head honcho for the ultra right-wing propaganda website, Breitbart News...one horrendous headline read...Birth Control Makes Women Unattractive And Crazy.  And Bannon published columns promoting white nationalists.

For the President of the United States to have the ear of someone...whose publication incites hatred and violence...paints a frightening picture.  It's a disgrace that Bannon will hold such an influential post in the west wing of The White House.

White nationalists...neo-Nazi groups...and the Ku Klux Klan...have celebrated with much joy over Trump's appointment of Bannon.  One neo-Nazi blogger wrote... "Bannon is our man in The White House."

     This is scary.

Trump claims - in fact, pledges - that he will be a President for all Americans.  Then how the hell can he give someone who endorses organizations that hate Jews...African-Americans...and just about any minority...such a high-level position in the Administration?

Bannon's on-line publication encourages bigotry of all forms...including racism... anti-Semitism...xenophobia...misogyny...homophobia...and other despicable prejudices.  CBS News reports that a court document states..."(Bannon) doesn't like Jews and he doesn't like that they raise their kids to be whiny brats."  The report went on to say that Bannon "didn't want (his daughters) going to school with Jews."  He has denied uttering those words.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says, "Bringing Steve Bannon in to The White House is an alarming signal that (Donald) Trump remains committed to the hateful and divisive vision that defined his campaign."

David Duke - the notorious white supremacist and former leader of the Ku Klux Klan - supported Trump during his campaign.  And although Trump denounced Duke in March 2016 - after insisting that he didn't know anything about him - Trump has picked Bannon...whose thinking as the president of Breitbart News...fell in line with Duke's bigoted beliefs.  What's next?  Will Bannon be offering a job to Duke in the Administration?  In any event...Bannon will be helping to make policy for the United States of America.  Adolf Hitler must be smiling in hell.

The poisonous appointment of Bannon to serve as a top-level adviser who will work closely with Trump in The Oval Office...needs to be condemned by all decent Americans - Democrats, Republicans and Independents alike.

Congressman Keith Ellison - Democrat from Minnesota - hits the nail on the head about Stephen Bannon.  "This man shouldn't be allowed to visit The White House... let alone run it."

And that's The Controversy for today.
