The United States Census Bureau says - as of the 2010 counting of our nation's population - 50.8 percent of all Americans are female.
In a 1992 interview, Trump was asked by radio broadcaster Howard Stern, "Do you treat women with respect?" The real estate mogul chuckled, "Ah...I can't say that."
Obviously he can't say that...because in a 2005 appearance with Stern, Trump ranked actress Nicollette Sheridan in a disparaging way. "A person who's flat-chested is hard to be a 10."
The feud between Donald Trump and actress Rosie O'Donnell has been ongoing for what seems like forever. But, believe it or not...there was a time when Trump and O'Donnell were friends. Thus, 
she was invited to the billionaire's 1993 wedding to now ex-wife, Marla Maples. However, in a 2007 interview with Larry King...Trump viciously called O'Donnell..."a slob. She ate like a pig."
But Trump's crudeness towards O'Donnell began long before his conversation with King. In a 2006 interview that was produced for sister celebrity programs Entertainment Tonight and The Insider...Trump's words were disgraceful. "Rosie O'Donnell's disgusting...I mean both inside and out. You take a look at her, she's a slob." And when O'Donnell was a
co-host on Barbara Walters' ABC talk show, The View...Trump venomously expressed his thoughts to ET and The Insider saying if that was his show, "I'd look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers, I'd say Rosie, you're fired."
In 2011, Trump nastily labeled New York Times columnist Gail Collins, "the face of a dog." And in 2012...Trump took on superstar entertainer Bette Midler...targeting her as "grotesque" and "an extremely unattractive woman."Trump verbally assaulted Arianna Huffington - co-founder of The Huffington Post -
whose ex-husband, Michael Huffington...a former Republican Congressman from California...came out as bisexual. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1997...but Trump - in August 2012 - tweeted that Arianna Huffington was "unattractive both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man. He made a good decision."
Of Kim Kardashian...Trump - in 2013 - attacked the television personality in another radio interview with Howard Stern. "She have a good body? No. She ever fat? Absolutely."
It was after an August 2015 Republican Presidential Debate when Trump's indecent language fired upon debate moderator Megyn Kelly of Fox News. "You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever."
And in September 2015 - of former Republican Presidential Candidate Carly Fiorina - Trump insulted her in Rolling Stone magazine. "Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that...the face of our next President?"Alicia Machado wore the crown of Miss Universe 1996. The former beauty pageant winner says...that in 1997...Donald Trump - who, at the time, owned the Miss Universe and Miss U.S.A. pageants - harassed her over her weight. Machado alleges that Trump tagged her with the derogatory name, "Miss Piggy"...after she put on a few pounds. Plus...Machado says she was offended when Trump's behavior became bigoted by branding her with the title, "Miss Housekeeping"...because she is Latina. Also in 1997...Trump told Howard Stern that Machado "was like an eating machine. She ate a lot of everything."
The day after the first Presidential Debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump...Alicia Machado slammed the Republican nominee, as she talked with Anderson Cooper of CNN'S Anderson Cooper 360. "He was really rude with me. He tried to destroy my self-esteem...and now I'm a voice in the Latin community."
Born in Venezuela...Alicia Machado is now an American citizen. And on Instagram, she posted..."I so proud and inspiration to be a U.S. citizen! I'll be voting! All my power and my support become with my next President, Hillary Clinton. Miss Housekeeping and Miss Piggy can vote."
After everything you have read in this column today...which are documented, substantiated facts...how can any woman vote for Donald Trump? And if you're a man...and you care at all about women...then neither should you.

I won’t defend Trumps comments, his words were wrong. His reasons or feelings may have been correct but his choice of words has been wrong. If we are to go down that path then what about Clinton’s words calling those women who had sexual affairs with her husband some who have claimed to be victims of sexual assault by her husband. She has called them bimbos, unstable, liars, members of a vast right wing conspiracy. Juanita Broaddrick, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Gennifer Flowers and many more were all called liars, bimbos, mentally unbalanced. In many cases these women were victims, one even claiming to have been raped by Hillary’s husband. What did Hillary do, she blamed the victim! She claims to want equal pay for women but she consistently paid women less for doing similar jobs in her Senate and State department offices. She has taken millions of dollars from some of the worst countries, places that women have no rights, can’t drive, can’t be seen public without a male from her family, counties that off the record support honor killings of women. The list goes on and on. Trump has always paid women equal to or in many cases better than their male counterparts, he hired the first women construction supervisor ever on a skyscraper in NYC. His words have been wrong but in many ways he has treated women by his actions better than Clinton.
ReplyDeleteYou have got to be joking. You really think that "His (Donald Trump's) reasons or feelings may have been correct"...are you serious? Where can any of the quotes I included above in my column ever in any way, shape, matter or form be thought of as "correct?" As for comparing the words that came out of Donald Trump's mouth with anything regarding President Bill Clinton, you cannot compare. This election is between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. It has nothing to do with Bill Clinton. His actions and/or alleged actions have nothing to do with Mrs. Clinton or how she would perform as President of the United States. You and other Republicans want to try to spin things in that fashion, but it's not going to work. As for your comments about Secretary Clinton and women's rights...nobody has done more for women's rights than Hillary Clinton. And you and other Republicans can say what you want, but Mrs. Clinton did not "take millions of dollars." Money was donated to the Clinton Foundation to help people in need. She did nothing wrong and neither did Mr. Clinton or the Clinton Foundation. Money was given, in good faith, to aid others in need. If you really think that Donald Trump "has treated women by his actions better than (either Mr. or Mrs. Clinton) then you're not living in the real world. And you certainly did not read my commentary carefully...or for that matter, paid any attention to factual information being broadcast on every TV network and cable channel for quite some time. GBD
DeleteI won't go as far as to tell people how to vote simply because most people resent being told what to do, specially regarding their exercise of our right to vote. However, it is clear Donald Trump is a mysoginist who harbors and expresses demeaning views of women. Interestingly enough, even his female campaign surrogates seem to fit a Trumpian profile: svelt, physically attractive, and for the most part, white and relatively young women. Their job is to "explain-spin" his unexplainable insults and bigotry, in the name of fighting against "political correctness."
ReplyDeleteIt seems that for Trump having lived as a Playboy during his youth was not enough. He seems to resent the fact that the Playboy clubs shutdown, that AIDS awareness redefined sexual mores, and that people, young, beautiful people, including models, age.
Thank you for your comment and for reading The Controversy. But I still feel - as I wrote in my column - that "No woman should cast her ballot for Donald Trump. In fact...whether you're a female or a male...Americans should only vote for Hillary Clinton to be elected the 45th President of the United States. After everything you have read in this column today...which are documented, substantiated facts...how can any woman vote for Donald Trump? And if you're a man...and you care at all about women...then neither should you." I made those statements in the hope to get through to some Independent and undecided voters who - for whatever the reason - are still "on the fence" about who to vote for on Election Day. I can't for the life of me understand his appeal, especially with women, middle-class males, people of color, whites, the rich, and the poor. Hey, wait a minute, that's just about everybody. Hopefully, in November, he gets only one vote...I know who he's voting for.

ReplyDeleteAustin, I'm guessing you just found The Controversy based on your response to a column from September 29th, 2016 since today is March 8th, 2017. But I thank you for reading The Controversy.
DeleteEveryone is welcome to express their own views. I don't "bash" anyone, but I will certainly tell someone that I don't agree with them. And when certain individuals reply and insist that what they are saying is fact and what I am saying is untrue, when I have facts to back up my statements, I will let the person know that too. For you to make remarks like "Typical liberal" and "What a piece of work"...only confirms what I say about so many of my Republican readers. I'm not going to agree with what people have to say just because they respond to my columns.
And yes. I am a very proud and extremely staunch progressive liberal Democrat. I supported President Bill Clinton for 8 years - and still do. I supported President Barack Obama for 8 years - and still do. And I will always support Hillary Clinton. Our country would not be in the situation it is today if about 70-thousand Democrats - who voted for President Obama in 2012 - in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin...had left their homes and had come out to vote for Mrs. Clinton.
