TRUMP'S EGO EVEN TRAMPLES ON PENCE

After reading the commentary below, please express your own thoughts.  Instructions on how to do so are written at the bottom of this column.  Thank you.

Donald Trump's enormous ego is coupled by his offensively obnoxious behavior.  And it's obvious that the Republican nominee for President feels he must even display his small-minded and selfish arrogance to trample on his running mate, Mike Pence.

On campaign lecterns, a graphic is posted, which has the TRUMP name considerably larger than the PENCE name.

Democratic Nominee for President, Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, gives equal billing - by font size, at least - to her political partner.  The lettering on the front of the CLINTON KAINE
podiums are exactly the same measurements for the names of the former Secretary of State and Senator Tim Kaine

And although the design size of names on lectern artwork is trivial - in the grand scheme of things - it continues to prove the narcissistic nature and the "I, I, I"..."Me, Me, Me"...and "I alone can fix it" attitude of Donald Trump.

It's not the kind of temperament that the United States of America can afford to have as our President and Commander-In-Chief...nor is it the proper demeanor for the leader of the free world.

All that being said...even many Republicans are realizing that they have made the biggest mistake...by not speaking up a long time ago...in order to try to stop Trump...from furthering his campaign.

In a column I wrote on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016, titled...Can Republicans Stop Donald Trump?...I blamed, in part, the other GOP candidates...who opposed Trump...for allowing him to succeed.  When the real estate mogul was treating his challengers like dirt...I emphasized that they "should never have put up with the bullying, bellyaching and bitching by Donald Trump"...and that "it's the fault of Trump's original 16 competitors...who allowed the billionaire businessman...to stomp all over them."

Let us all remember some of Trump's derogatory nicknames...such as labeling Florida Senator Marco Rubio - "Little Marco"...Texas Senator Ted Cruz - "Lyin' Ted"...and

basically telling Carly Fiorina that her "face" is ugly.  And let me refresh your memories when Trump belittled former Florida Governor Jeb Bush

of having "low energy"... and when he called his brother, former President George W. Bush, practically every degrading name in the book - right to Governor Bush's face.  But perhaps the worst of the repugnant and reprehensible remarks by Trump...towards one of his Republican rivals...was by wrongly connecting Senator Cruz's father to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

After all of the despicable and abusive browbeating by Trump... during the GOP debates...that is when one - or more than one - of his "punching bags"...should have taken center stage...and told-off the "big bad wolf."  One of the 16 other candidates needed to channel Academy Award winning actor, Peter Finch's character, Howard Beale, in Paddy Chayefsky's Oscar winning original screenplay for the 1976 motion picture, Network...by shouting the following at Donald Trump.  "I'm (we're) mad as hell and I'm (we're) not going to take this anymore."

I don't know why these supposedly smart...15 men and one woman...who through their careers...have either been elected to political office or who have run a major corporation...never made any effort to condemn Trump.  Why did they all fear this big bully?  Why did they not...dump on Trump?

All that being said...most Americans - from the public...to politicians...to the press - have...for more than a year...shrugged their shoulders in disbelief about Donald Trump.  So why should we think...that Trump's ego...would be different...even when it concerns his running mate...or the size of letters...on a podium sign?

Now it's up to Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine to do what the Republican candidates wouldn't do...or couldn't do.  And Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Kaine...WILL...stop Trump.

And that's The Controversy for today.
