DONALD TRUMP OWES EVERY JEW AN APOLOGY

Please do whatever you can to help make this important commentary to go viral.  I, therefore, ask you to please share a link to The Controversy with everyone you know on social media.  Also, after reading my essay, please express your own thoughts.  Instructions on how to do so are written at the bottom of this column.  Thank you.

     Donald Trump...you disgust me.

It was bad enough that your social media manager posted on Twitter - on Saturday, July 2nd - the likeness of the Star Of David...in a negative campaign tweet...that appears to be an anti-Semitic demonstration.  Whether that was the intent or not...the perception was certainly there.  But after your team deleted the post...you then added more fuel to an already incendiary situation when - on Wednesday, July 6th - you made matters worse by stating you "would have rather (kept the tweet) up" so you could "defend it."

You're always thinking about yourself, Donald.  Instead of apologizing to every Jew in America...every Jew in the world - (including me) - for the offensive image...you're more interested in continuing an inflammatory controversy...just so you can try to put your own political spin on it...and attempt to vindicate yourself from another one of your bigoted blunders.  That is if you even believe that it was a mistake...which you probably don't.

After all...I would think a photo of Hillary Clinton...atop a mountain of money...in an ad that features a Star Of David...with a caption reading, "Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!"...is going to be loathed by just about any Jew.  And not because of politics.  In fact...I won't include it in this column.  Now my regular readers are well aware that I am a staunch supporter of Mrs. Clinton for President.  But just for a moment, let's take the Democratic presumptive nominee out of the picture.  Any ad with a six-sided star...a pile of cash...and the word, "corrupt" is certainly a despicable display of anti-Semitism.  Must I remind you that you have a Jewish son-in-law...a daughter who converted to Judaism...and three Jewish grandchildren?

How dare you think that it would have been better to keep the graphic on Twitter?  And you want Americans to believe...that the star in your tweet... resembles that of "a sheriff's badge?"  I'm quite confident that you, Donald Trump, know exactly what a Star Of David looks like...and it's not five-sided...as are the tin emblems worn by some law enforcement officers.

As for you comparing the star in your tweet to an innocent Disney ad...that depicts a similar-looking star...your disparaging analogy...is as illogical...as everything else you've done throughout this last year.  Do you now really want to piss off Mickey Mouse?  Well...you probably don't care about that either.

And that's The Controversy for today.

     I'm Gary B. Duglin.

  1. GBD maybe you should check your facts before typing “I'm quite confident that you, Donald Trump, know exactly what a Star Of David looks like...and it's not five-sided...as are the tin emblems worn by some law enforcement officers” well the LA County sheriff’s badge is a six pointed star, Orange County ‘s badge, Macon County Illinois’ badge, Columbine Colorado’s badge and hundreds of other state, county and local sheriff and police badges are six pointed stars including the official US Marshal’s badge. Maybe if the you and the left would stop lying about Trump and look at your candidate you might see the problem is with Hillary, the most “CORRUPT” and untrustworthy person ever to run for the Presidency. I don’t believe Trump is a racist or anti-Semitic or owes you or anyone an apology.

  2. What you don't seem to understand is that it was not just the 6-sided star alone that was wrong. It was that the 6-sided star was atop a pile of money with the word "corrupt" on the star. When you combine the money with a star that appears to be a Star of David, along with the word "corrupt" - that in and of itself is an anti-Semitic remark. What Donald Trump should have then done is said, "IF...the tweet was thought to be offensive by any Jewish person, then it was not my intention or the intention of my campaign and therefore, I apologize for any misunderstanding." That's what Trump should have said. That's what any decent person would have said. As for your comment about Hillary Clinton, there has never been any proof that she has lied or that she cannot be trusted, so it amazes me when Republicans such as yourself make such hateful remarks. She will make a GREAT President. GBD

  3. You must live in a fantasy land to believe Hillary Clinton never lied and or can be trusted; Jim Comey basically called her a liar in his statement and in his testimony before the House. I don’t know what Bill and Lynch talked about on that plane but it must have gotten to Comey, was it a threat or blackmail or did they just make him fear for his life from the Clinton machine, we all remember Vince Foster? Something got to him or he would have pushed for an indictment, either that or he was seduced by the dark side.

  4. It's only people like you and other Republicans who are living in "fantasy land." There has never, ever been any concrete proof of Hillary Clinton lying or that anyone should have any cause to not trust her. That has been a political ploy by Republicans ever since President Clinton and First Lady Clinton entered The White House on January 20th, 1993. FBI Director James Comey was very, very clear with his statement that Hillary Clinton did not lie under oath to the FBI. "We have no basis to conclude she lied to the FBI," Comey told the House Oversight Committee. As for what "Bill (Clinton) and (Loretta) Lynch talked about on that plane," you and other Republicans can believe what you want. But I take both President Clinton and Attorney General Lynch at their word that "nothing" was discussed in reference to Secretary Clinton's e-mail controversy. And for you to make a moronic accusation that Attorney General Lynch or President Clinton "threat(ened) or blackmailed" Director Comey is not only a disgraceful comment by you, but you should be ashamed of yourself to even make such a remark. And your despicable inference - as other Republicans have made for years - that the Clintons had anything to do with the death of Vince Foster is detestable, deplorable and reprehensible. Nothing or nobody "got to" Jim Comey. There is no reason whatsoever for Hillary Clinton to have been indicted. She did nothing unlawful or illegal. The law is written very clearly and as Director Comey stated, there is "no evidence" that Secretary Clinton did anything against the law. It is sad that somebody like you has so much hatred and so much ignorance. GBD

  5. I don’t know what you listened to but this is from the transcript of Comey’s statement: “Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case. Prosecutors necessarily weigh a number of factors before bringing charges. There are obvious considerations, like the strength of the evidence, especially regarding intent.” It is not the job of the FBI to determine if a prosecutor would bring a case and his statement on “intent” is totally wrong the statutes specifically states criminal intent is not required to prove a violation. She broke the law and got away with it. As for lying Comey said she did not lie to the FBI. Your statement that she never lied under oath to the FBI is incorrect because Comey stated to the House Committee that she was never put under oath! She just lied to the country. She said many many times she never sent or received classified emails that was a lie. From Comey’s statement: “From the group of 30,000 e-mails returned to the State Department, 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received” some were marked “c” for classified. If her name wasn’t Clinton she would have been in handcuffs!

  6. Untrue, untrue, untrue. First of all, of the 30,000 e-mails only three...that's right...in fact only small parts of 3 e-mails were marked with the very small "c" for classified. Therefore, as FBI Director James Comey admitted, it could have been very easy for someone such as Secretary Hillary Clinton - or anybody else for that matter - to miss the tiny, little "c" marking in 3 e-mails of 30,000. That's 1/100th percent of all of the e-mails read and reviewed by the FBI were marked - in part - as classified. This is so insignificant, it's pointless to even discuss it. As for lying, Secretary Clinton did not lie to the FBI. That is exactly what Director Comey stated before Congress. And as Comey said, "no reasonable prosecutor" would prosecute such a case. He did give his "opinion" that Mrs. Clinton was "careless" - which was not his place to say - but as he did say, that is "not a reason to put anyone in jail." So either you didn't listen to the testimony or you just want to make up your own stories. The fact of the matter is that Director Comey said that "nobody" would be charged with a crime for this matter so therefore somebody who is "famous" - whether Hillary Clinton or anybody else - should not be charged with a crime for something like this. Get a life, man (or woman). Stop making up your own stories because you hate Hillary Clinton. It's disgusting to even read your comments. I'm done discussing this with you. GBD

  7. Keep drinking the kool-aid. The statement is a direct quote from Comey: “Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case. Prosecutors necessarily weigh a number of factors before bringing charges. There are obvious considerations, like the strength of the evidence, especially regarding intent.” I'll say it again “evidence of potential violations of the statutes" evidence of a crime! That's what he said. He also said about the 110 emails that were classified but not marked "There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position, or in the position of those government employees with whom she was corresponding about these matters, should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation". If she didn't known better or didn't care, either one should disqualify her from being President! You are the one making up stories so don't bother replying with any more of your lies. I'm sure your will not post this because it proves you wrong!

  8. I'm done here with you on this issue. There's no Kool-Aid to drink. The bottom line is that FBI Director James Comey made his decision and his recommendation to the Justice Department that Hillary Clinton should not be charged with a crime because she did "nothing unlawful." Your comment does not "prove (me) wrong" but instead the facts stated by Director Comey proves me right. Mr. Comey's opinions are irrelevant. The facts he stated are what counts. And what counts is that he decided and Attorney General Loretta Lynch agrees that Secretary Clinton did nothing "unlawful" and she should not and will not be charged for a crime because she did not commit a crime. Not "knowing better" does not disqualify her from being President. If that was the case then we'd never have anyone being elected President. You're just a Clinton hater so obviously you're going to think the way you do. I'm done here. I will not post another of your comments about this issue as we are going round and round in circles and based on the testimony of Director Comey, there is nothing more to say. This is a non-issue. Hillary Clinton did nothing illegal and she will be elected the 45th President of the United States. GBD

  9. One more thing...I am amazed at you and other readers who responded to the column above titled "DONALD TRUMP OWES EVERY JEW AN APOLOGY." Instead of commenting on the topic, you spew your venom to criticize Hillary Clinton about something totally unrelated to my editorial. Instead of chastising Donald Trump for not apologizing for an anti-Semitic remark, you take it upon yourself to use my forum to bash Mrs. Clinton about something that has nothing to do with the subject matter being discussed in my column. You Republicans truly amaze me. From now on, unless you reply to what I am writing about, you won't be posted. You'll just have to wait to blabber your nonsense when I happen to write about that particular issue. GBD

  10. The main point was what Trump said about Hillary and she is the "Most Corrupt Candidate Ever!" a liar and an un-indicted criminal.

  11. The main point was that Donald Trump is a bigot and that he owes an apology to every Jew. As for your hateful comment about Hillary Clinton - there has NEVER, EVER been any proof whatsoever that she has ever lied. She is not corrupt because there is no proof of that. And there is no reason for her to have ever been indicted for anything because she has never done anything illegal. There is nothing more to be said on this topic so the matter is closed. GBD
