I have decided - after considerable consultation...reflection...meditation...and prayer - to enter the 2016 Presidential race as a Liberal Independent. I welcome all to support me, as I make this last-minute run for The White House.
I have already discussed my decision with political gurus...business icons...and Hollywood celebrities...who will bankroll my campaign.
I am also very pleased and tremendously happy to announce today that my Vice Presidential running-mate will be Academy Award winning actor, Leonardo DiCaprio...who is a hardcore liberal. Leo is "extremely excited about our campaign." And even though I have been a strong
Leo and I welcome all volunteers to come on board. This is one ship that Leo will be on that won't sink. And as President and Vice President of the United States of America...together we will indeed be..."Kings of the World."
And that's The Controversy for today.
I'm Gary B. Duglin.
"We'll talk again."

Editor's Note: In case you didn't notice the date at the top of this column... the commentary above was published on April 1st, 2016. I am not running for President and - although it would be a pleasure to do so - I have never met or even spoken with Leonardo DiCaprio. And yes...definitely...I still support Hillary Clinton for President. Figured it out yet? April Fool everyone! Have a very happy April Fools' Day!
