SAY GOODBYE, BERNIE

After reading the commentary below, please express your own thoughts.  Instructions on how to do so are written at the bottom of this column.  Thank you.

Bernie Sanders should now unite the Democratic Party and, therefore, the Senator from Vermont needs to suspend his campaign for President.

It might not be mathematically impossible for Senator Sanders to win the nomination, but the tremendous support that is being given to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton...and her overwhelming amount of primary wins and large delegate count so far...including "super delegates" - it's most probably impossible for Senator Sanders to beat Mrs. Clinton for the Democratic nomination.

So Bernie... congratulations on the states you did win.  You gave it the old school try, but it's time for you to throw in the towel and to recognize Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee, thus allowing the entire Democratic Party - and Democrats all throughout the United States of America - to fully focus and concentrate 100% on defeating the Republican nominee in the November 8th, 2016 general election.

Senator Sanders...will you give up your run for President and back Secretary Clinton as the Democratic nominee?  Will you be a team player?  Will you do it?  I certainly hope so.

And that's The Controversy for today.

  1. GO Bernie Go!
I would suggest he at least wait until after March 15th. He did win a couple of states on Super Tuesday, so there is still some momentum there. If he doesn't do well on the 15th, then I would agree it is time, but you are counting him out too early.

    1. I understand that Sanders supporters are gung-ho about Bernie winning, as I am with Hillary Clinton. But with the Democrats, there are "super delegates," which Hillary is cleaning up with; proof being her delegate total now is more than 1,000. She's almost half-way to the finish line. Bernie only has about four-hundred. All Hillary needs to do is continue her campaign and do as well as she has been doing (or better, which now I'm sure she will) and the nomination will be hers' in a matter of weeks. As I wrote in my commentary above, it's time to "Say Goodbye, Bernie."
