DUMB DONALD IS REALLY DUMB

After reading the commentary below, please express your own thoughts.  Instructions on how to do so are written at the bottom of this column.  Thank you.

"Go ahead.  Make my day."  Clint Eastwood made those five words legendary as Dirty Harry.  And although it's one of the most famous lines in motion picture history, it is the warning and the promise that Bill Clinton should use if Donald Trump is stupid enough to take on the former President.  But then...I hope Trump does.  Mr. Clinton will make mincemeat out of Trump.

Nearly fifteen years after leaving The White House, Bill Clinton arguably remains the most popular person and one of the most beloved figures in our country and throughout the world.  So despite any gorilla poop - to use a clean phrase - that Donald Trump may try to hurl at President Clinton, the 42nd Commander-In-Chief has much more firepower in his verbal arsenal to torpedo the Republican Presidential Candidate in to oblivion.  But unlike Trump...Mr. Clinton will articulate with class and style; and by doing so, he will blast Trump out of the political waters.

So, go ahead, Donald.  Target Bill Clinton.  Spend your millions.  Try to attack Hillary Clinton by spewing your vindictive venom at Bill Clinton.  But if you continue to flap your lips with raunch and vulgarity, both President Clinton and Secretary Clinton will reduce you to the little imp that most Americans believe you to be.  And that will make my day...and the day of all who support Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States.  So for every dollar of your fortune that you unleash...in an effort to poison either Secretary Clinton or President Clinton...it will be you who will need the antidote to stay alive in the 2016 Presidential race.  But no matter the rescue attempt...The Donald Trump Campaign For President...will be dead.

And that's The Controversy for today.

     I'm Gary B. Duglin.

  1. First off, if a Republican or Conservative used a picture of Clint Eastwood pointing a gun the left would scream all holy hell that they were being threatened; it’s okay for a Democrat to do it. As usual with the left the truth doesn’t matter. Just because Bill Clinton is popular it doesn’t make what Trump is saying wrong. The facts are Bill Clinton was and still might be a womanizer and a man who sexual harassed women who worked for him. I never knew that the truth was called, and I quote you “gorilla poop”. If you want to claim that a man who is a serial cheater on his wife, who harasses women and entices young women (young enough to be his daughter) to perform sexual acts on him in the White House as someone with class and style, you have a very much distorted definition of class and style. Then again I don’t expect else from left wing Democrat, all I can say is go back to your name calling, you do well.

    1. It is so obvious to me when a reader of my blog doesn't actually read my column, but skims it. Either that or you just don't digest the meaning of my words. The reference to Clint Eastwood is to relate the quote of his movie character, Dirty Harry. Therefore, the photograph is of Dirty Harry not of Clint Eastwood. Bill Clinton never sexually harrassed a woman in The White House. His encounter with Monica Lewinsky - which you are implying - was consentual. Donald Trump's comments about President Clinton is "gorilla poop." I'd use s---, but I don't use profanity in my column. And there is no question that President Clinton articulates with class and style. That is something Donald Trump will never know how to do. Finally, if you re-read my commentary, there is no "name calling." There are only facts. GBD

Trump hasn't spent a cent so far Gary. and if Hillary wants to use the sex card this is what she'll get.. not only from Trump but from every other candidate as well. she needs to decide if she's the victim or the strong woman. she bounces back and forth as you know depending on what myth she's trying to perpetuate. Scott...my reference to Donald Trump's spending is based on his announcement that he will be spending money beginning next week. I have no other comment regarding your posting. My column says it all. GBD

  2. It is so obvious to me when a writer of a blog doesn't actually read my reply; I was talking about the use of someone pointing a gun, not the character or the actor. Second I never said Clinton sexual harassed anyone in the White House, he harassed women when Governor and was accused of harassing women when Attorney General, in the White house he enticed a young woman (young enough to be his daughter) to perform sexual acts on him. A real classy guy!

    1. Oh I read your reply. You just don't seem to get the point of my column. The photograph of Dirty Harry is merely to accompany my comment that President Clinton should use Dirty Harry's famous line, "Go ahead. Make my day." as a warning and a promise to Donald Trump should the Republican Presidential Candidate be stupid enough - or "dumb" enough, to use the word in my title - to take on the former President. Since Dirty Harry was known for his Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver, the photograph is to depict the motion picture character. The reference had nothing to do with "the use of someone pointing a gun" (quoting you). If Dirty Harry was known for pointing his finger...that would have been the photograph I would have used. As for Bill Clinton being "accused of harassing women"...accusations are just that. Mr. Clinton was never convicted - or even arrested - for any sexual harassment. If you are referring to the Paula Jones lawsuit, the court dismissed her harassment lawsuit, before trial, on the grounds that Jones failed to demonstrate any damages. Thus, there is no definitive proof of the former President being guilty of sexual harassment or anything of the sort. And, as for your statement that President Clinton "enticed a young woman (young enough to be his daughter) to perform sexual acts on him"...he enticed no one. Any encounter that Mr. Clinton may or may not have had with Monica Lewinsky was consentual. And yes...President Bill Clinton IS "a real classy guy!" GBD

  3. Gary: You have raised an interesting point regarding Bill Clinton and his effectiveness on the campaign trail for Hilary as well as whether he is unassailable for his prior personal behavior. I think that Bill is going to face recurring questions about his infidelity and treatment of women when he gets on the road, not from Republican candidates but from the press. The recent indictment of Bill Cosby in Pennsylvania, in my view, reveals a growing refusal to condone predatory sexual transgressions.

While I prefer political discourse to occur at a higher plane and stay issue oriented, perhaps Donald Trump is not so "dumb" after all.
