Have you touched the saliva, vomit, sweat, feces, blood, mucus, tears, breast milk, semen or vaginal discharge of a person who has ebola? If your answer is "No"...then YOU DON'T HAVE EBOLA...AND YOU CANNOT GET EBOLA.
I'm not a doctor...and as the old saying goes..."I don't play one on TV"... but according to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention...and the National Institutes Of Health...the average American cannot and will not get ebola. The concern is for healthcare workers who are caring for an ebola patient - doctors, nurses, etc. But if they are properly trained...they too will not get ebola.
There is no outbreak of ebola in the United States...and based on facts... not fiction...not fantasy...not myth...there never will be. An epidemic uncertainty...along with worrying for the people of the nations in the western part of Africa...is justified - but not for Americans.
As for people entering the United States from areas of Africa...there are only a handful of American airports where that is possible. And again...the CDC and the NIH say those individuals are observed and tested - temperatures taken, etc. - to confirm if there is the remote chance whatsoever of someone being positively ill with ebola.
You must have DIRECT CONTACT with one of the aforementioned bodily fluids of someone who is symptomatic, sick and infectious...with ebola...to get the disease. Plain and simple.
So STOP THE PANIC. STOP THE HYSTERIA.
And that's The Controversy for today.
